Resource types in Repositories — default settings in 4 repositories

Previous post looked at written guidelines and policies for a number of university repository collections.

This one looks at what the default settings of the repository software itself — what sorts of items is the default software expecting to be deposited. (In many cases local configurations can be made at installation to change these lists.)

The Metadata Chapter of the RUBRIC Toolkit contains a spreadsheet table setting out these lists in an easy to read comparison format.

The following lists are taken from the software versions in general use early 2007:
